Between 1926 and 1928, Eileen Gray collaborated with Jean Badovici on the creation of an architectural masterpiece: Villa E-1027 in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. For this project, she designed all the furniture, including the iconic Transat, created around 1927. Its name refers to the abbreviation of “transatlantic,” evoking the deck chairs on cruise ships.
